Presentación

Marine biology is more than just working with dolphins and whales – it also helps make predictions about important changes and problems in the world like global warming, tourism and pollution.

The Marine Biology major will enable you to gain specialised knowledge and experience in marine biological systems, as well as a strong understanding of the application of ecological principles and environmental management strategies.

You will develop breadth of knowledge through a range of disciplines, from the biological sciences like botany and zoology to the physical sciences of chemistry, geography and oceanography.

Requisitos

English/EAL, Mathematical Methods/Specialist Mathematics and one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics; OR English/ESL and both Mathematical Methods and Advanced Mathematics.

Applicants intending to progress to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine are encouraged to complete VCE Units 3 and 4 in Chemistry (or equivalent).

Only ‘T’ courses are suitable for tertiary entry. In order to satisfy prerequisites, subjects must be taken as a major, a major/minor or a double major. Subjects taken as minors do not satisfy prerequisites. The titles used are the ‘Course Areas’ used by the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies.
