Presentación

This programme prepares students for the demands of senior management and allows a measure of specialisation in a combination of two fields of study; Hotel and Tourism. The curriculum focuses on the strategic business development of organisations and the Dissertation allows self study and for students to further specialise. This is for students who intend to make their management careers in the industry and wish to be best placed to achieve rapid promotion.

Requisitos

IMI Higher Diploma or equivalent.
Six months work/internship experience
Proficiency in English: 5.5 IELTS, or equivalent

Applicants with the required English level have the option to refresh their language skills through one of our four week, intensive Pre-Sessional English Courses (PSECs). Applicants who need to improve their English level to meet the requirements for course entry can join one of our 11 week University English Preparatory Courses (UEPPs).

Personal Professional Development 3

Students are challenged to reflect on their academic and personal progression throughout the course and supported in preparing for their first professional employment opportunities.

Applied Research in the Hospitality, Tourism and Events Industry

This unit explores research frameworks and philosophies, methodologies and data analysis techniques to support the various stages of the dissertation writing process.

International Marketing Management

This unit exposes students to International Marketing concepts and aims to develop critical understanding of marketing principles and practices in international hospitality and services contexts.

Pathway Dissertation

The dissertation is a sustained, in-depth and independent piece of research into a self-selected topic which reflects the students pathway specialisation. Students are given a supervisor to support the writing of the dissertation and meet regularly with them to receive guidance on the process and feedback on formative submissions.

Pathway Unit: Hospitality Leadership and Innovation

This unit examines the relevant theories and practices of effective hospitality leadership and innovation. It considers how we might more effectively address the challenge of creating and sustaining competitiveness within hospitality organisations through the mechanisms of both leadership and innovation

Pathway Unit: Sustainable Tourism Planning and Development

The unit is designed to provide students with a critical framework for analysing tourism planning and development at international level within the context of sustainability.
