This course is recognised by the Royal Society of Biology, so you can become an Associate Member upon graduation. We work closely with organisations, including Derby Museums, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Royal Derby Hospital, and Sea Life, to provide you with work and internship opportunities, access to field sites, and guest lecturers to enhance your learning experience. You can take advantage of our high-spec laboratories, glasshouse, insectory, and student research laboratory.
You can study Biology on its own or as part of a joint honours degree. You’ll learn about topics such as ecology, evolution, genetics, human biology, and current issues, including the human genome and its impact on drug development and cancer therapies. Our teaching team are active researchers so your learning will be informed by the latest developments.
