Ideal for anyone looking to gain up-to-date expertise in marketing, the Business and Marketing (Top Up) degree course provides an excellent pathway for anyone looking to advance their sub-degree qualification and business acumen.
On this course, you will examine the role of marketing within business and explore the impact of marketing on society, industry and the natural environment. Through specialist marketing modules, the course offers insights into emerging issues in marketing and will give you the opportunity to critically examine marketing practice and its relevance in contemporary business on a global scale.

Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): exams taken from January 2015 – overall score of 169 with at least 162 in each component ; exams taken before January 2015 – Grade C and no less than borderline in each skill
Trinity College English Language qualifications: ISE II Distinction or ISE III Pass for undergraduate courses
City and Guild’s IESOL/ISESOL tests, in some cases, we may also be able to accept the communicator level (B2)
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum of 51 points in each element for the majority of undergraduate programmes
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements, we run a number of courses to prepare you for academic studies.
During this one year ‘top up’ course you will examine core aspects of business such as business strategy and communication in a global context, whilst also getting the chance to conduct an investigation into a business problem that allows you to apply your business acumen to a real life scenario.
In addition to studying four core business modules that will broaden your understanding of how businesses operate, you will also study two additional modules specialising in marketing. These specialist modules will allow you to acquire expertise in developing marketing strategies for countries across the globe and examine marketing practice and its relevance in contemporary business.

There are some traditional lectures, but the majority of your learning will rely on interactive seminars, supported by online study materials. We also arrange an induction programme, so you can get to know your tutors and other students before you start studying and hit the ground running on the first day of term. You will use the latest real-life data and case studies to help you learn, making your studies as relevant as possible to what you will experience in the workplace.
This marketing ‘top up’ is designed to further enhance your employability by adding to your existing portfolio of qualifications and skills.
