Climate change has been a feature throughout the Earth’s past, and is now also taking place in response to human activity. It is one of the most pressing, and one of the more complex, problems facing society in the 21st century.
This innovative degree programme will provide you with thorough and comprehensive grounding in the physical science basis of climate change in the past, present and future. Furthermore you will have the opportunity to take part in a year in industry, which will make for an invaluable addition to your scientific knowledge and technique. It will increase your employability and gives you the chance to put your first two years of Climate Science learning into practice.
The BSci Climate Science with a Year in Industry aims to prepare the next generation of climate scientists to act on the national and international stages of climate research and policy development. Graduates will be equipped for careers in academia, in research organisations, in government agencies and local authorities, and in environmental consultancies, amongst others. A Level: ABB and AS level Mathematics at grade C
International Baccalaureate: 32 points including one HL from the preferred list at 5 and one other HL subject at 5. A minimum of HL Mathematics at 4 is required.
Scottish Highers: AABBB and Maths at grade C
Scottish Advanced Highers: AAB and Standard Level Maths at grade C
Irish Leaving Certificate: AABBBB and Standard Level Maths at grade C
Access Course: Pass the Access to HE Diploma with Distinction in 36 credits at Level 3 and Merit in 9 credits at Level 3, including 12 Level 3 Science credits and 6 Level 3 Maths credits.
BTEC: DDM in relevant subject area, with at least 6 units of Science, and 3 units of Maths
European Baccalaureate: 75% overall including at least 70% in one science and Maths
