    The BSc Computing Science degree programme prepares you for a career working with rapidly changing technology, giving you a thorough understanding of the theory and practice of computing science.

    The degree programme is designed to offer a broad selection of modules reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of computing. Modules are chosen according to your preferences, which creates a unique and personalised academic experience. You will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of computing subjects, from artificial intelligence to embedded systems.

    Furthermore, upon completing your first year of study, you will have the option to transfer to one of the more specific degree programmes within the School of Computing Sciences if you find your academic interests have become more specialised.

    This programme has full Chartered IT Professional (CITP) accreditation as well as leading to Chartered Engineer (CEng) status from the BCS – (The Chartered Institute for IT)

    Requisitos

    A Level: ABB in one subject as listed below
    International Baccalaureate: 32 points overall including one HL from the subjects listed and one other HL subject at 5
    Scottish Highers: AABBB in one subject as listed below
    Scottish Advanced Highers: ABB in one subject as listed below
    Irish Leaving Certificate: AABBBB in one subject as listed below
    Access Course: Pass the Access to HE Diploma with Distinction in 36 credits at Level 3 and Merit in 9 credits at Level 3, including 12 Level 3 credits in either Mathematics, Science or Economics
    BTEC: DDM - minimum of 6 units in a science subject. BTEC IT Practitioners acceptable
    European Baccalaureate: 75% overall with 70% in one subject as listed below

    The School of Computing Sciences leads the university in utilizing its internationally recognized research commercially through SYS Consulting, its consulting company, and through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. Many of the projects and coursework that you will take part in use data or scenarios that come from real industry and business applications, giving you effective practical experience that can be applied in a working environment.

    Depending on which specialties you studied during your degree course, you will have the necessary skills to work in many application areas of computing science, from computer games development to computer systems engineering, and many more. Our students also use their technical and entrepreneurial skills to play influential roles in the creation of companies such as Travel Republic, Evoke systems, Fyfo and Shoretech systems.
