This programme is offered either full and part time basis
The MEng course allows two structured placement opportunities in the form of two optional modules, running during the summer break of the second and third years. Over these modules, students gain credit towards their overall degree by taking a vocational placement at an engineering company for a minimum of 10 weeks. This allows students to apply the engineering knowledge they have learnt in the first two years of the programme to a professional workplace whilst also directly contributing to their degree. If structured correctly, this experience can also enhance your training profile in achieving chartered status.
Students are also encouraged to undertake voluntary placements in the three summer breaks between the academic years of the MEng. This can provide students with up to 33 weeks of industrial experience over the course, giving you an insight into the engineering sector which will prove invaluable to your employment prospects upon graduation.
