This unique and innovative degree programme covers the history of European and North American art and architecture, from classical antiquity, medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and modern periods, right through to contemporary art. You will also study the visual and material art forms of Islamic, Indian, African, South American, Japanese, and Pacific cultures.

Throughout this course you will be encouraged to engage closely with works of art and architecture in many historical and geographical contexts. You will be able to choose modules from the wide variety offered within Art History and World Art Studies, tailoring your degree according to your own interests, in a particular culture or period.


Qualification: BA (Hons)
A Level: AAB including at least one humanities subject
International Baccalaureate: 33 points including at least one Higher Level humanities subject at grade 5 or above
Scottish Highers: At least one Advanced Higher preferred
Scottish Advanced Highers: AAB including at least one humanities subject
Irish Leaving Certificate: AAAABB including at least one humanities subject

BTEC: DDD (Arts and Humanities subject preferred)
European Baccalaureate: 80% including at least one humanities subject at 70%
