The role of the midwife is to provide support and care to women and their partners during pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks of parenthood. As a midwife you will be the lead professional when care is uncomplicated but you will also be a core member of the multidisciplinary team. This course provides a robust approach to learning due to its close links to developing the application of theory and practice and assimilating your existing experience, knowledge and skills into practicing midwifery.
The programme we offer provides an integrated set of learning experiences to enable you to meet the health and social needs of women and their families during their pregnancy, birth and early weeks afterwards.
For the BSc (Hons) Midwifery (Shortened):
Must hold a Diploma.
Must be a registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
Needs to provide evidence of study within approximately the last 5 years to support professional development and career progression.
Needs to have completed a period of preceptorship
