This interdisciplinary degree programme allows you to benefit from the combination of expertise within both Political, Social and International Studies and Philosophy. The BA Philosophy and Politics degree programme has been designed by a number of political scientists interested in philosophy and philosophers interested in political science, giving you the opportunity to study an interdisciplinary course that incorporates important areas of debate, learning in the context of both Philosophy and Politics and how they relate to one another.
This course is ideally suited to those wishing to specialise in the philosophical aspects of politics and the political approach to philosophy. Through this degree programme you will have the opportunity to address issues such as: the philosophical underpinnings of democracy; the clash between different world views; and the philosophical basis of utopian political systems.
