Our graduates will be creative and informed photojournalists who are ready to shape the future of this highly competitive industry.
You will learn how to create photojournalism features by studying a wide range of photographic practices and skills, including hands-on project work and presentations, transmitting images from our electronic picture desk, editing pictures for publication, and taking an idea from concept to post-production using digital and traditional technologies.
There will be opportunities to work with external professional organisations on a number of real and simulated briefs, including the regional, national and international press and various press agencies, increasing your photographic portfolio for publication in both print and online platforms.
Digital photography and social media feature prominently throughout the course, reflecting their growing importance in the photojournalism industry, with students encouraged to go out into the local community, engaging with people and becoming confident, effective communicators.
