This course combines degree level learning of French or Spanish language with the study of translation issues and media in today’s fast-changing world. This three year fast track course is for particularly able language students who obtain two A grades at A level (or equivalent), including one in their chosen language. We also welcome native speakers of French or Spanish on to this programme.

Alongside your chosen language you will have the opportunity to choose from a range of specialist modules in culture, society, translation and media.

Translation competence modules will cover the theory and technique of translating, and questions of style and register in a range of specialised areas. An optional work experience module provides the opportunity to experience professional translation first-hand.
