English Foundation Program

The English Foundation Program is an intensive program for students who need to improve their English language skills to meet the requirements for EU Business School’s degree programs. It is designed to prepare students for the academic rigors of university-level business studies, ensuring they have the necessary language proficiency to succeed in an international environment.

Proof of English level:

TOEFL score 59/3 (as of Jan 2026) (internet-based), 169 (computer-based); IELTS 5.0; CAE B1 with a minimum score of 154; minimum PTE-A of 40.

This program is specifically designed for international students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s, master’s, or MBA degree at EU Business School but do not yet meet the English language proficiency requirements. It is ideal for those with an intermediate level of English who want to bridge the gap between their current skills and the academic standards required for higher education.

The program aims to improve students’ English language skills in all four key areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Key objectives include: enhancing academic writing skills for reports and essays; developing effective presentation and communication techniques; building a strong foundation in business-related vocabulary; and ensuring students can comfortably follow lectures and participate in academic discussions. It serves as a bridge for students to meet the English entry requirements for EU´s undergraduate and graduate programs.

The program curriculum includes the following modules: English for Academic Purposes, Structured Writing and Grammar, Oral Communication Strategies, Reading and Analysis, and Business English. Students focus on the practical application of the language within a business context, including case studies and group projects. The program lasts for one semester (13 weeks) and is offered at EU Business School Barcelona.

Graduates of the English Foundation Program gain direct entry into EU Business School’s programs, including Bachelor´s, Master´s, and MBA degrees. By successfully completing this program, students are equipped with the linguistic tools necessary to excel in international business careers, management positions, and global organizations that require high-level English communication.
