This programme is offered either full and part time basis.
Understanding America in the 21st century is more essential now than ever. Studying one of the world’s most significant superpowers at this fascinating moment of flux and change opens up a wide range of academic pathways.

The programme is organised thematically, covering race, gender and civil liberties; power and protest; and American popular culture and the avant-garde. Your studies will equip you with the critical skills and methodological training you need to pursue your interest in America from different disciplinary perspectives. It’s a great preparation for future employment in a number of fields, as well as for doctorial research.

This MA is equally well suited to American Studies graduates wishing to deepen their expertise, and graduates of literature, history, or other disciplines wishing to discover new perspectives.

Requisitos

Degree Subject Humanities or Social Sciences Degree Classification UK BA (Hons) 2.1 or equivalent Special Entry Requirements A 3000 word essay from your previous degree should be uploaded to your online application.
Students for whom English is a Foreign language
We welcome applications from students whose first language is not English. To ensure such students benefit from postgraduate study, we require evidence of proficiency in English. Our usual entry requirements are as follows:

IELTS: 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in all components)
PTE (Pearson): 62 (minimum 55 in all components)

DEMOCRACY AND DISSENT
GOOD GOOD GIRLS AND GOOD BAD BOYS? AMERICAN FICTIONS OF INNOCENCE
RACE AND RESISTANCE

Option A Study (20 credits)
