Presentación

This Masters qualification, the first of its kind in Wales, offers an academically challenging and practically relevant approach to fashion marketing in an international context.

In the 21st century, internationalisation of the fashion industry continues unabated. From fast fashion to high street and luxury designer brands, the international activities of fashion companies continue to be the focus of attention for consumers worldwide. With supply chains getting ever faster and trends constantly changing, responding to this global marketplace is an ongoing challenge.

You will gain a grounding in the key areas of supply chain, branding and merchandising, and an introduction to the latest concepts and ideas that are relevant to the modern marketplace. A key component of the course will be evaluating the influence of multi-channel marketing and how it is driving modern consumption of fashion brands.

Requisitos

Licenciado/Título de Ingeniero/Título de Arquitecto with an average of 6.0-6.9, Aprobado or above

English language qualifications:
GCSE pass in English at Grade C or above
IELTS with an average overall score 6.5 with at least a 5.5 in each component
TOEFL IBT minimum score 88
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): exams taken from January 2015 – overall score of 176 with at least 162 in each component; exams taken before January 2015 – Grade C and no less than borderline in each skill
Trinity College English Language qualifications: ISE III Pass for postgraduate taught courses and research applications
City and Guild’s IESOL/ISESOL tests at expert and mastery levels (C2 and C1) for the majority of postgraduate programmes
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum of 67 points in each elemen
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements, we run a number of courses to prepare you for academic studies.

Programa

Throughout your studies, you will explore a wide range of marketing philosophies and functions, while challenging traditional methods and contemporary thinking associated with the fashion industry. Research skills will focus on the effect of emerging media on modern organisational thinking. You will test issues surrounding retail and merchandising, fast fashion and luxury brands, and branding and contemporary consumption, as you develop new ideas in line with modern, fashion marketing theory.

Please note that some of the modules are delivered at the Cardiff Campus and you will be required to fund your own transport.

Learning and teaching methods
Full-time students study each subject intensively over a period of several weeks. Part-time delivery is designed around the needs of practising marketing managers and fashion industry professionals.

You will learn through lectures, seminars, group work, case studies, and analyses of contemporary fashion marketing materials, as well as specialist guest lectures from leading professionals.

This course has been designed to meet the development needs of those who want a career in international fashion marketing. It reflects the requirements of dynamic organisations of various sizes and types, in a range of sectors.

Recent graduates can be found working in many branches of industry, including management, marketing and merchandising, with a variety of fashion brands such as Topshop, Vogue, Hollister, John Lewis and White Stuff.
