Presentación

MSc Project Management was the first of its kind in Wales to be accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM).

This course develops a deeper understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of project, programme and portfolio management. It facilitates the essential skills and competences necessary to plan, monitor, control and deliver successful projects.

It focuses on developing skills for careers in project management, including both theory and applied aspects, and is mapped against key professional body competencies.

The knowledge, understanding and skills gained during the course can be applied to a range of environments. It brings together resources, skills, technology and ideas, to realise benefits or achieve objectives, and operates within the multiple project constraints of cost, scope, time and quality requirements. Students on this course will become familiar with leading thinking and emerging research in the field of project management to benefit their continued professional development.

Requisitos

Licenciado/Título de Ingeniero/Título de Arquitecto with an average of 6.0-6.9, Aprobado or above

English language qualifications:

GCSE pass in English at Grade C or above
IELTS with an average overall score 6.5 with at least a 5.5 in each component
TOEFL IBT minimum score 88
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): exams taken from January 2015 – overall score of 176 with at least 162 in each component; exams taken before January 2015 – Grade C and no less than borderline in each skill
Trinity College English Language qualifications: ISE III Pass for postgraduate taught courses and research applications
City and Guild’s IESOL/ISESOL tests at expert and mastery levels (C2 and C1) for the majority of postgraduate programmes
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum of 67 points in each elemen
Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements, we run a number of courses to prepare you for academic studies.

To gain the MSc in Project Management, you will be required to complete a dissertation or business research project. This module will involve extensive independent research into a relevant topic within project, programme and portfolio management, allowing you to apply and reflect on your skills and knowledge in the subject area.

Full-time and part-time students usually undertake this work immediately after they have completed the taught modules of the postgraduate diploma stage.

Graduates from this course may:

Develop a career in a project management based role or environment
Already work in such an environment but seek to formally recognise their work
Have the knowledge base, organisational and analytical skills to pursue a career as a project or programme manager, portfolio manager, working in a project management office (PMO), or as oroject administrator or project worker
Have developed applied research skills in order to pursue advanced research study and further professional qualifications
