The Medical Laboratory Technician program will expose you to the exciting and rewarding world of the medical laboratory.

This is a collaborative program taught by Centennial’s School of Community and Health Studies and School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science, with representatives from hospitals, private laboratories and the Ministry of Health.

The theoretical, practical and clinical portions of this program are completed within a year, making it an ideal choice for those who wish to quickly enter the workforce.

Curriculum and program objectives are built on the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and The Ontario Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (OSMT) competencies for entry- level Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistants

Requisitos

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)
English Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent (minimum grade required)
Mathematics Grade 12 C, M, or U, or equivalent (minimum grade required)
Biology Grade 11 or 12 / C or U or equivalent

The College arranges six weeks clinical placement for students. Training sites are subjected to change and students are expected to finance clinical placement costs (travel, room and board)

Certification Examination
Graduates of our program are qualified to write the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT) and the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification exams for Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician.
