This full time course offers you the option to study gain a highly desirable MEng qualification, and one year´s work experience.
Key to the exploitation of emerging technologies is understanding their behaviour, performance and limitations. The ability to model and simulate the performance of technologies is paramount where design optimisation is required. The main emphasis of this course will be in studying a broad range of engineering subjects including advanced engineering technologies and their integration. An individual project together with advanced engineering skills will ensure graduates can not only understand the technologies but apply them.
The entry requirements for this course are 104 to 120 tariff points, including 3 A-Levels, or equivalent qualifications. BTEC Extended Diploma DMM.
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence that you can understand English to a satisfactory level. English language requirements for this course are normally:
IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each component, or equivalent.
This degree will develop high calibre engineers who are able to function both as an engineer and a technology leader in industries such as aerospace, marine, automotive, alternative energy, oil and gas, and similar high-tech industries.
You will have the option to take a 40 week placement in industry in your third year.
The Bachelors level of the course (BEng) can be achieved in 3 years full-time, or 4 years if you take the optional placement. Students who complete the BEng level with a good second class honours award will be eligible to progress to MEng status, which will take a further one year of full-time study.
